ITE College West, Singapore

Fabritecture recently completed installation of the 3,000 m2 fabric membrane roof at the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) College West. Working for Gammon Pte. Ltd. as part of a US$190M project, Fabritecture managed the design, fabrication, and installation of this stunning state-of-the-art architectural membrane..

The brand new ITE College West includes a campus housing 7,200 full-time, 8,100 part-time students, and around 630 staff. The canopy was chosen as a cover over the campus plaza for its natural transmission of light, UV and weather protection, and aesthetic appeal.

Design Features:

  • 70m x 40m membrane roof with cable support system only. Installation was achieved by predominantly using a chain block method, as limited site access restricted the use of cranes.
