| In May 2009, Built Environs awarded Fabritecture the PTFE membrane contract works as part of the Adelaide Oval West Grandstand redevelopment.
The entire project involved demolition of the existing structures (retaining the historic brick arches) and construction of a new 14,000 capacity western grandstand and facilities, including a 500-seat dining room, four bars, administration areas, media facilities and state-of-the-art player facilities. Fabritecture managed the design, fabrication and installation of the PTFE membrane cladding to the main grandstand’s Diagrid roof trusses. The contract works had a fixed (and tight) deadline – completion of the truss cladding needed to be ready in time for the Ashes Test match held in December 2010. |
